I received this title from my aunt and it stemmed from me going out of my way to make my unreasonably difficult father happy, you know, kind of like Cinderella with her evil step-mother. I have since detached myself from the unhealthy relationship with my father, but the nickname has stuck. To me now, the name is a symbol of my come up— each chapter of my story that has brought to this part of my life’s novel.
For as long as I can remember, I have been exploring words and using them to feed my creativity. Growing up, I wrote to explore my imagination and to cleanse my soul. Then college came and suddenly I was submerged in writing papers for everyone but myself. Gradually, I lost the creativity in my writing that had once helped to define me.
Finally, in early 2018, I decided to redefine my happiness. And, after some soul searching, I decided to use my words again.
A Linderella Story was created to cultivate a community through storytelling. Whether it’s by featuring the lives of small business owners through interviews or hosting events dedicated to exploring vulnerable topics, A Linderella Story is a platform where dreamers come together to learn a bit about each other while learning a lot about themselves.
This project is dedicated to the stories within each and every one of us: may they be the fuel that ignites inspiration around the world.
